Skoda, the jokes are endless, as are the waits for the tow truck?
Not any more.
Readers of my ramblings will note I recently took possession of a Skoda Octavia 4x4 Hatch. UK Readers may be stunned - as from what I can tell you can only get the Estate (Combi) over there in 4x4.
For the record, this is actually my forth Skoda. The first was circa 1972 I believe - it did not go as such, although we did manage to get it to turn over on the white spirits I was distilling at the time, but that is another story.
The first real Skoda I had (and my wife now drives it) was a Skoda Fabia 1.4, and other than lacking a decent set of speakers, and a turbo (or slightly bigger engine) it was a wonderful car.
The second Skoda is very similar to my new one, but was a standard 2.0 litre and front wheel drive. It to was a wonderful car, but suffered the same problems as the Fabia - lack of decent stereo and a turbo.
Now, it's the Skoda Octavia 4x4 - and what do I think of it?
