Take a second look at what appears to be someone's "good luck." You'll find not luck but preparation, planning, and success-producing thinking....

Mediocrity has a new name - NZ Idol
OMG - I feel like vomiting.

My wife and I have not watched NZ Idol this year - so when we heard a snippet (the last 4 songs) tonight we were rather stunned to hear it was the final.

Apparently "Frankie Stevens thinks that this year NZ Idol has produced the best talent to date." Is he on drugs?

All the top 10 from last year are better than this years two finalists. I don't generally care about stuff like this but there are several things that made it impossible for me to hold back.

Living For The City (Stevie Wonder) - this is a hard, angry song about poverty and the unfairness of life in poor America. Matt turned it into a happy-clappy everything is good song. He should be put to death. Or at very least be lobotomized - oh sorry - he already is! He has no soul.

Think (Aretha Franklin) - I'm sorry - I have seen karaoke performers do better. Its *THINK*, not a whispered little think. It a serious, and somewhat harsh song - again, not some happy story of life. She lacked the energy and the spirit to carry it off.

I didn't see the other performances in full - but I can say the little snippet of Marvin Gaye from Matt was enough to convince me he has no penis.

TVNZ needs to stop Idol NOW. This was an embarrassing moment in New Zealand history.

Put you 99 cents per vote into buying real albums from real artists who are actually making a go of it - the Minuits, Goldenhorse etc of the NZ space - they need your money - it IS their life - not some fanciful pipe-dream - support them - not this commercial crap that is NZ Idol.

Whacko Jacko Not Guilty
So, he is not guilty.

I for one had no real opinion on whether he was or wasn't.

However, for those who say the trial was a farce - justice is justice. Someone loses, someone wins.

SpongeBob Video Across USA?
So, the hardcore tried, and are still trying, to stop the SpongeBob video being distributed to 1000s of schools across America!

"We Are Family" sung by a bunch of cartoon characters, all promoting tolerance of diverse racial and sexual alignment.

What on earth is wrong with that?

The puritan barbarians in the USA need to take a chill pill and get over their own insecurities and teach their children it is alright to be different.

The video, although I have not seen it yet, is promoted as encouraging children to understand diversity is a very real part of the modern world, and that same sex families are as real and relevant as any other family unit.

For the puritans that disagree - "normal" families have a statistically higher percentage of physical and emotional abuse and are more likely to disband as a unit. So before you start throwing stones, better fix the core issue within your society which has nothing to do with sexuality.

Oh, and what about the hillbillies shagging their sisters and daughters? Or is that just a stereotype as well?

Rod Stewart You Old Dog
So, the dirty old rocker is getting married again.

Rachel Hunter was bad enough, particularly as she was from trashville Genfield here in little old New Zealand.

But Penny Lancaster, at 33 is still mighty fine, and seems a little less pathetic than good old Rach.

It's a true shame about Rod Stewart's music. Obviously, stuff like "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" was pretty naff, and he would likely get arrested if he did something like that within the current social climate, but underlying it all, he was a pretty talented guy, until he decided fame was more importantant than artistic focus.

Anyway, I am sure he will enjoy his time with Penny Lancaster, judging from these photos she is a bit of a lush.

Time for another coffee - oh - and Happy First Aniversary to my lovely wife. We are too knacked after little Viggo's antics last night to even contemplate going out for a celebration.

Lord Of The Rings
Ahhh... adult time.

A glass of wine, a cuddle, Lord of the Rings (DVD) and ....

Oh shit... bubs just vomitted all over my t-shirt(the third of the day)

Oh well... my love could not finish her wine. More for me.

Every cloud has a silver lining.
